Rents in Discovery Bay?

Well, my wife, our sons, and I may be coming to HK after all. We're happy about it all.

Given our sons are 2, 3, and 4 years old, we are thinking DB would be a very good place to live. What should a relatively nice Sienna Model, with 3 bedrooms, cost us per month?

We were quoted HK$35K, but others told us that that sounded much too high, that a price of HK$25K sounded more about right. This in turn made me question the real estate agent who quoted the HK$35K price. Any thoughts?

great source of info is the wednesday issue of the SCMP - property post section

re disco-bay (as we call it).....beware of hidden costs such as transportation, management fees and even supermarket prices

regarding real estate agents....as with anyone working on commission basis, their aim is to bump it up as much as possible and remember....they're really acting with the landlord's interests at heart...and they operate in a cut-throat environment....even if you don't let one of their apartments, they'll bug you forever more!!!
