visiting hong kong - what should I bring?

hi, I am going to be visiting hk very soon & I am staying at a friend's house. I know it is customary to bring gifts when we visit, but I do not know what to bring. The only thing I can think of is American Ginseng, but I am not sure if they can get it there. I am visiting from the USA. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

Ginseng

This is a great question. I asked Mrs Tall about the ginseng. She agreed it's a good gift, but added that she's heard most of the best of the ginseng grown in the US gets exported over here anyway. It's certainly widely available here.

Frankly, there's not much you can buy in the US that's not available here. Does your state have any characteristic (and possibly delicious) products you might bring along?
