It doesn't work like there here in Hong Kong. We are not an all out Five-Day week workforce here. The Public Holidays are just Bank Holidays. Many of the bigger corporations are abide to it, but there still many SME going on for a five and a half or even a six day working week.
In your example, if a public holiday falls onto a Saturday then thta would be what it remains. The Friday ahead of it would not be considered a public holiday.
