Batgung

Hi, I have never been to Hong Kong but I am going to be heading over there in august. I am going to japan first and I have found that there are rather cheap apartments for rent in Tokyo so that is what I am doing for a month. is there something similar in HK?  Or is there anything cheaper? Im not really afraid to stay in a filthy place or a bad part of town, I just want a place to sleep for cheap, and i dont usually do hostels because I dont like sleeping in the same room as complete strangers. lol, any help is appreciated.
