Mandy Tam Heung-man has been found NOT GUILTY of vote rigging after running an accountant seminar two days before the 2008 Legislative Council election.
Prosecution witnesses claimed that there were calls by those who were helping in its organization to vote for Tam.
Seminar participants received attendance certificates, and the seminar could be counted as one-and-a-half- hours toward the credit requirement.
However the magistrate apparently did not consider this evidence as vote rigging. However a spokesman for the Department of Justice said the magistrate's verdict would be studied to decide if there could be an appeal.
I can smell a case of fishy melons here or fixing your hat under a pear tree perhaps?
