Can a Hong Kong born move back to live and work in Hong Kong?

I was born in Hong Kong in 1979 and i am ethnic Chinese.  I have only lived there for three years  before moving to the United States.  I have been thinking a lot recently about having a future there and working there as english teacher.  Does anyone know if there are special privileges for being born in Hong Kong?  Do i really need to live a certain amount of years there and not be a citizen of another country to go back?  Can anyone help me find out this information?   Thank You.
