Batgung

One of the tricky parts of Cantonese is there is a lot of slang to deal with. But it certainly adds colour to the learning experience, with "Bye-bye yuk" as a good example.

Listening to two friends yesterday, one was bemoaning the fact they needed to lose 15 pounds, and the other replied that yes, they had too much bye-bye yuk (yuk means meat). It made no sense to me, until they demonstrated what happens when you wave bye-bye, and that flabby upper-arm (where your triceps are supposed to be) wobbles back and for - that's your bye-bye yuk !
